Every site we cover goes through the same process, so our reviews and ratings can be compared side by side.
1. We check official sources
We read each service’s help center, pricing and subscription pages, terms, and App Store and Google Play listings. That is where the facts on our pages come from: what is free, what each plan adds, how to cancel and how to delete an account.
2. We record prices with a date
Dating apps often charge different amounts by country, age and platform. We show prices as indicative ranges and note the date we checked them. Always confirm the final price in the app before you pay.
3. We compare services side by side
We put the same facts next to each other for every service: free features, paid plans, safety tools and who the members are. Our rankings and head-to-head comparisons are built from this.
4. We score five areas
- Match quality: how big and active the membership is, and how the site suggests matches.
- Features: tools that genuinely help you connect.
- Value for money: what you get for what you pay.
- Safety: verification, moderation, reporting and privacy.
- Ease of use: sign-up, design and accessibility.
The overall rating is our editorial judgement across all five areas, not a strict formula. Each review explains the main reasons behind it.
5. We check that a service still exists
Dating apps close and rebrand more often than you might think. Before we add a brand, we confirm it is live through its own help center or app store listing. When a service shuts down, we remove it or say so on the page.
6. We keep pages up to date
We re-check key details regularly and show the “updated” date on every page.
Commercial relationships don’t change scores
Whether or not a site pays us a commission has no effect on its rating.
