What you can do for free

- Free filters for gender, distance, age, ethnicity, religion and relationship type
Is there a Hinge free trial?
We found no free trial of Hinge+ or HingeX in Hinge’s help center. You don’t need one to try the app, because the regular version is free with no time limit. Any special offer you’re shown would appear inside the app under Subscribe to Hinge.
What the free version includes
- Matching and messaging, with no limit on chats.
- A limited number of likes a day. Hinge doesn’t publish the number.
- One incoming like at a time, sorted by Your Type or Recent.
- One free Rose and one Undo Skip a week.
- Standouts and a daily Most Compatible suggestion.
- Free preferences for gender, distance, age, ethnicity, religion and relationship type.
That’s unusually generous for a relationship app, and it’s why most people should start here.
Making your free likes count
- Fill in all your prompts and photos before you start. Hinge says candid photos and photos showing your interests get more likes than selfies or posed shots.
- Get Selfie Verified, which also helps if you’re on a waitlist.
- Add a comment to each like. It’s free and more likely to get a reply.
- Use your weekly Rose on someone you really want to meet. It doesn’t carry over.
- If you see few people, tick “Show profiles outside of this preference” on a filter or two.
