Step 1: Cancel your subscription
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Hinge → Cancel.
- Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Hinge → Cancel.
- Website: Hinge account settings → subscription / billing.
Step 2: Delete your Hinge account
- Open Hinge and tap your photo icon.
- Tap the gear icon to open Account Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Follow the prompts to confirm.
Menu names can change after app updates. If you can’t find an option, check Hinge’s help center.
Cancel your subscription first
Deleting your Hinge account or the app doesn’t always stop billing. It depends on how you paid (Hinge):
- iPhone, App Store: open your Apple subscriptions → Hinge → Cancel Subscription.
- iPhone, Hinge payment (Stripe): gear icon → Cancel Subscription. If you no longer have the app, you can cancel through Stripe with the email address that gets your Hinge subscription emails.
- Android: Google Play subscriptions → Hinge → Cancel Subscription.
Do this at least 24 hours before the next billing period. If you paid through Hinge’s own option, deleting your account cancels the subscription immediately, and you lose whatever time is left.
Pause instead of delete
If you only need a break, pause your profile: photo icon → gear icon → turn on Pause. New people won’t see you, and you can keep chatting with your matches. Pausing doesn’t pause a subscription. Anyone you already liked can still match with you.
What deleting removes
Deleting removes your photos, chat history and member interactions under Hinge’s privacy policy, and other people can no longer see you. Removing the app from your phone doesn’t delete your account. If you’ve already removed the app and want the account gone, contact Hinge’s support team.
Can you restore a deleted Hinge account?
Partly. If you sign up with the same phone number within 90 days, Hinge restores some information, such as your name, height, photos and prompts. Your preferences, likes, matches, messages and Selfie Verification badge are gone for good. After 90 days you start again.
Refunds
Most purchases are nonrefundable. If you live in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island or Wisconsin, you can ask for a full refund within three business days of subscribing. Apple handles this for App Store purchases. For Hinge’s payment option or Android, send Hinge a signed, dated written notice as its refund article describes.

Frequently asked questions
Does deleting Hinge cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions bought through Apple or Google must be cancelled there, at least 24 hours before renewal. Deleting Hinge does not stop that billing.
Does uninstalling Hinge delete my account?
No. Removing the app from your phone leaves your profile active. You must delete the account in settings.
Can I pause Hinge instead of deleting?
Many dating sites let you hide or pause your profile. Check Hinge’s settings for a pause or hide option if you might come back.
