Step 1: Cancel your subscription
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Loosid → Cancel.
- Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Loosid → Cancel.
- Website: Loosid account settings → subscription / billing.
Step 2: Delete your Loosid account
- Cancel any paid plan in the App Store or Google Play first.
- Tap the profile icon in the bottom navigation bar, then settings.
- At the bottom, tap Delete Account.
- Confirm. This is permanent and can’t be undone.
Menu names can change after app updates. If you can’t find an option, check Loosid’s help center.
Cancel your plan first
Deleting your account doesn’t cancel a subscription bought through an app store, so turn it off first.
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Loosid → Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Loosid → Cancel.
Do it at least 24 hours before renewal. If you pay for both the dating app and SAM, check each one.
How to delete your account
Loosid’s guide has four steps (Loosid):
- Tap the profile icon in the bottom navigation bar.
- Tap the settings option from the menu.
- At the bottom, tap Delete Account.
- Confirm your request.
What deleting removes
Loosid says this removes all your account data from its servers, and that it’s permanent and can’t be undone. So your matches, chats and any sobriety tracking on that account will go with it. If you’ve built up a count of your days, note your date first.
Dating app and community app
Loosid has two apps. If you use both, check that you’ve closed the one you meant to, and look in the other app’s settings too. We found no information on Loosid’s site about whether one account is shared across both, so if you’re not sure, ask support.
If you only want a break
We found no pause option in Loosid’s help pages. It’s fine simply to step away from a dating app, especially if you need to focus on yourself. You can turn off notifications in your phone’s settings and come back when you’re ready. If you’re leaving because dating has become stressful, it may help to stay in the community app, or to speak to your sponsor, counselor or someone you trust.
