Why the free plan works as a trial
OkCupid doesn’t run a standard free trial of Basic or Premium, but its free plan covers the parts that decide whether the site suits you. You can answer as many questions as you like, see your match percentage with everyone, send Intros and message the people you match with. Even the inclusive options are free: over 60 gender identities and sexual orientations, plus pronouns.
What you pay for is mostly convenience: unlimited likes, Dealbreaker filters and seeing who has already liked you. So a couple of weeks on the free plan tells you nearly everything a trial would.
How to get a real discount
Genuine OkCupid discounts show up inside your account, usually as a new-member or returning-member offer on the upgrade screen. They typically apply to the first term only, and the plan then renews at the normal price unless you turn off auto-renewal. Longer plans also cost less per month than a single month.
How to test OkCupid properly before paying
- Answer at least 50 questions and mark the important ones. The match percentage means little until you do.
