Step 1: Cancel your subscription
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → OkCupid → Cancel.
- Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → OkCupid → Cancel.
- Website: OkCupid account settings → subscription / billing.
Step 2: Delete your OkCupid account
- Open OkCupid and tap your profile icon.
- Go to Settings and scroll down.
- Tap Disable your account.
- Choose Delete (permanent) or Disable (hidden, can be reactivated) and follow the prompts.
Menu names can change after app updates. If you can’t find an option, check OkCupid’s help center.
Delete or disable?
OkCupid gives you two options, and the difference matters.
- Disable hides your profile and removes your name and photo from the site, but keeps your account. You can reactivate it later with your profile and answers intact.
- Delete is permanent. OkCupid says your content, including photos, chat history and member interactions, is deleted in line with its privacy policy, and the account can’t be reactivated.
The app steps above work for both: tap Disable your account and then choose Delete or Disable.
How to delete your OkCupid account on the website
- Go to okcupid.com and sign in.
- Click your profile icon in the top right and choose Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and click Need a break?
- Click Delete account, choose a reason and continue.
- Enter your password and confirm.
What happens to your subscription
If you paid by card or PayPal and turn off automatic billing in Settings on okcupid.com, you keep the paid features until the end of the time you’ve already paid for. Do this before you disable your account, because disabling only pauses billing.
App Store and Google Play subscriptions are separate: the stores don’t know when you disable or delete your OkCupid account, so cancelling in the store (Step 1) is the only way to stop those charges.
Before you delete

Does deleting OkCupid cancel my subscription?
If you paid by card or PayPal, turn off automatic billing in Settings on okcupid.com; disabling your account pauses billing but does not cancel auto-renewal. If you paid through the App Store or Google Play, cancel there. Removing the app does nothing.
Does uninstalling OkCupid delete my account?
