- A limited number of First Contacts a day
Is there a Plenty of Fish free trial?
We found no free trial of POF Plus or Premium in POF’s help center. You don’t need one to try the site, because the free plan has no time limit and covers what most people want.
What’s free on POF
- Search, with filters for gender, location, age, distance, religion and more.
- Meet Me, and a Discover page showing who’s online.
- Unlimited messages with your Mutual Matches.
- A limited number of First Contacts a day, to people you haven’t matched with.
- Selfie Verification and Share My Date.
Where the free plan stops
You’ll see ads, and likes are limited. Extended profile details are hidden, such as whether someone wants children. You can’t see everyone who liked you in one view. When you run out of First Contacts, you wait until the next day, or buy more. POF doesn’t publish the daily number.
Getting the most from free POF
- Add a clear main photo. You can’t send messages without one.
- Get Selfie Verified, so people can trust your profile.
- Swipe in Meet Me first. A Mutual Match costs you no First Contact and gives you unlimited messages.
- Save First Contacts for people whose profiles you’ve read, and mention something specific.
