Step 1: Cancel your subscription
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Plenty of Fish → Cancel.
- Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Plenty of Fish → Cancel.
- Website: Plenty of Fish account settings → subscription / billing.
Step 2: Delete your Plenty of Fish account
- Cancel any paid membership first — at least 24 hours before it renews.
- On the web, sign in and open the account deletion page (on iPhone: Profile → Manage Account).
- Answer the short questions and press Delete Account.
- Confirm in the pop-up. Deleted accounts cannot be reactivated.
Menu names can change after app updates. If you can’t find an option, check Plenty of Fish’s help centre.
Deleting Plenty of Fish is permanent
POF is clear: deleted accounts cannot be reactivated. Your photos, chat history and interactions are removed for good. If you only need a break, simply logging out and ignoring notifications keeps everything in place.
Cancel the membership first
Deleting your account — or the app — does not stop a paid membership. Turn off renewal at least 24 hours before it is due, and keep in mind that POF subscriptions are non-refundable. If you bought through Google Play or the App Store, cancel there.
How to delete
On the web (works on any phone browser too): sign in, open POF's account deletion page, answer the short questions and press Delete Account, then confirm in the pop-up.
On iPhone: tap the profile icon and look for Manage Account, then follow the deletion steps.
On Android: the app itself has not always included a delete option, so the reliable route is the mobile browser.
Before you press delete
- Save phone numbers or other contacts for anyone you want to keep talking to.
- Download or save any photos you only kept on POF.
- If you plan to return in a few months, remember a new account starts from scratch — including the time it took to build up your conversations.
