Step 1: Cancel your subscription
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Plenty of Fish → Cancel.
- Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Plenty of Fish → Cancel.
- Website: Plenty of Fish account settings → subscription / billing.
Step 2: Delete your Plenty of Fish account
- Turn off any paid membership first, at least 24 hours before it renews.
- On iPhone or a phone browser, go to My Profile → Manage Account → Delete My Account. Android has no in-app option, so use POF.com in your browser.
- On a computer, go to My Profile → Settings → Delete Account.
- Confirm. Deleted accounts can’t be reactivated.
Menu names can change after app updates. If you can’t find an option, check Plenty of Fish’s help center.
Cancel your subscription first
Deleting your account or the app doesn’t cancel a subscription, so stop it first, at least 24 hours before it expires (POF):
- App Store: iPhone Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → POF → Cancel Subscription.
- Google Play: profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Cancel subscription.
- POF.com: on a desktop computer, Manage Account → Membership → Account Type → cancel membership.
Your paid features last until the end of the current period. POF says subscriptions are non-refundable, with some exceptions in its terms.
How to delete your Plenty of Fish account
The steps depend on your device, and Android has no in-app option:
- iPhone: My Profile → Manage Account → Delete My Account.
- Android or a phone browser: go to POF.com in your browser, then My Profile → Manage Account → Delete My Account.
- Desktop: My Profile → Settings → Delete Account.
Deleted accounts can’t come back
Deleting is final. Your photos, chat history, matches and likes are gone for good, and you’d have to start again with a new account. A paid upgrade doesn’t transfer to a new account either, so use up your time first. Swap numbers with anyone you want to keep in touch with.
Take a break instead
If you only want some time away, Take a Break pauses your profile. Go to My Profile → Manage Account → Delete My Account → Take a Break, and choose how long. It works only in the app and on mobile web, and only in some regions. While you’re on a break, members can’t see you, and you can’t like anyone or send or receive messages. Just start using the app again to end it, and your profile and photos will still be there.

Use the contact form in POF’s help center. For billing questions, write from the email address on your account, or support can’t verify it’s you. We found no phone number for customer service in its help pages.
