Step 1: Cancel your subscription
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Dateability → Cancel.
- Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Dateability → Cancel.
- Website: Dateability account settings → subscription / billing.
Step 2: Delete your Dateability account
- Cancel Dateability+ first in your iPhone or Google Play subscriptions (or through Manage Subscription on the Account tab).
- Open the Account tab and scroll to the bottom.
- Select Delete Account and confirm.
- Stay logged out for 7 days. Logging back in before then cancels the deletion.
Menu names can change after app updates. If you can’t find an option, check Dateability’s help center.
Before you delete your Dateability account
Cancel Dateability+ before you delete your Dateability account. Deleting or deactivating doesn’t stop a subscription, and Dateability can’t see or refund your payments, because Apple and Google handle them. Cancel through Manage Subscription on the Account tab, or:
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Dateability → Cancel.
- Android: Google Play → profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Dateability → Cancel subscription.
You keep Dateability+ until the end of the billing period. Dateability doesn’t give refunds for the time left.
Delete or deactivate
Dateability has two ways to step away, both at the bottom of the Account tab.
Deactivate Account pauses you. Your profile becomes invisible, but your account, matches and Deets stay saved, and logging back in brings everything back. It’s the better choice for a flare, a hospital stay or a few months off.
Delete Account is permanent, but not straight away. Dateability deletes the account after 7 days. If you change your mind before then, log back in and follow the prompt. After 7 days you’d have to build a new profile, including the photos, alt text and Deets.
What else to know
Swap contact details with anyone you want to keep in touch with before you delete. Your verification selfies are kept only while you have a profile. For anything you can’t do in the app, such as changing your name or date of birth, email Dateability at [email protected]. There’s no phone line.

Frequently asked questions
Does deleting Dateability cancel my subscription?
Deleting or deactivating your account doesn’t cancel Dateability+, and Dateability doesn’t give refunds. Cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions first.
Does uninstalling Dateability delete my account?
No. Removing the app from your phone leaves your profile active. You must delete the account in settings.
Can I pause Dateability instead of deleting?
Many dating sites let you hide or pause your profile. Check Dateability’s settings for a pause or hide option if you might come back.
