What Hiki is
This Hiki review covers a friendship and dating app made for autistic, ADHD and other neurodivergent adults. It was founded in 2019, and Hiki says all of its team members are neurodivergent (Hiki). It’s on iPhone and Android, and you must be 18 or over.
You don’t need a formal diagnosis to join. Hiki is for anyone who identifies as neurodivergent, including people who are self-identified or still exploring that identity, and it says you’ll never have to prove you belong. It’s also LGBTQIA2S+ friendly.
How Hiki works
What makes it different is the way you show interest. Next to each section of someone’s profile, there’s a Heart for romantic interest and a Smile for friendship, so nobody has to guess what you mean. If you only want friends, you can say so in Match Preferences. An X skips someone, and they may come back around in a few days.
Hiki calls itself a “dual-party consent” app: private chat opens once you’ve both liked each other and matched. Everyone, free or paid, can send one custom first message with a Like. Profiles let you describe your traits, support needs and communication preferences, which saves a lot of explaining. There’s also a community page where you can post, react and comment, plus group chats, so you can get to know people outside a one-to-one chat.

Hiki says it has nearly 200,000 active users across the world. That’s small, and they’re spread out, so there may be few people near you. Hiki is upfront about that and asks members to invite others. For friendship, distance may not matter so much. For dating, it’s often worth keeping a larger app alongside it. Is Hiki safe?
Hiki uses location, age and ID checks to filter out scammers and underage users. Premium members can get an ID verification badge, and Hiki says free members will get ID verification soon. Moderators look at reports, and rule breakers can be muted or banned. You can block or report anyone from the “…” menu.
The iPhone app has 3.9 out of 5 from about 2,600 ratings in the US App Store (checked November 1, 2026). Take your time, and ask someone you trust if a situation feels confusing.
