It starts from a simple observation: mainstream apps reward split-second judgements, witty banter and a polished, socially optimised version of yourself — exactly the things many neurodivergent people find exhausting.

Hiki changes a few basics. When you like someone, you choose a heart for romantic interest or a smile for friendship, so intentions are clear from the first tap and nobody has to guess. Profiles let you describe your traits and support needs in your own words, and a community feed lets you post, comment and react, so the app is about belonging as well as matching. The community is also welcoming to LGBTQIA+, gender non-conforming and non-binary members.

Who it suits: neurodivergent adults who want friends, a partner or both, and would like to skip the unwritten rules of mainstream dating apps.

What to keep in mind: the pool is small compared with big apps and members are spread across many countries, so local matches can be few. Premium adds useful safety and visibility features, but its price is only shown inside the app.
