Short answer
✅ Hiki is free to join, match and chat. The App Store lists a 7-day trial on some monthly Premium plans, which normally becomes a paid plan unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
What you can do for free
- Profile, with no diagnosis needed
- Heart for dating, Smile for friendship
- One custom first message with a Like
- Chat with matches, and the community page
Is there a Hiki free trial?
Yes, on some plans. The US App Store lists “Hiki Premium 1 month 7d trial” at $34 and at $44 (checked November 1, 2026). Hiki’s FAQ doesn’t describe the trial in detail, so read the screen carefully when you’re offered one.
How not to be charged
A trial like this normally becomes a paid plan when it ends. To stop that:
- Write down the end date when you start, or set a reminder.
- Cancel in the App Store or Google Play at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Remember that deleting the app or your account doesn’t cancel it.
What you get for free
You don’t need a trial to use Hiki. Without paying, you can:
- Build a profile, and join without a diagnosis.
- Use the Heart and Smile to show romantic or friendly interest.
- Send one custom first message with a Like.
- Chat once you’ve matched.
- Post and comment on the community page, and join group chats.
- Set age, distance and gender preferences.
Getting comfortable on Hiki
There’s no rush here. Some ways to ease in:
- Start with the community page if one-to-one chat feels like a lot.
- Write your communication preferences on your profile, so people know what works for you.
- Choose Friendship in Match Preferences if you’re not looking for a date.
- If your area is quiet, friends further away are still friends.
