Step 1: Cancel your subscription
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Stir → Cancel.
- Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Stir → Cancel.
- Website: Stir account settings → subscription / billing.
Step 2: Delete your Stir account
- Turn off renewal first, in Manage Subscription or your app store.
- In the app, tap your profile, then the gear icon.
- Scroll to Manage Account and tap Delete Account.
- Tap Delete My Account, or hide your account if you might return.
Menu names can change after app updates. If you can’t find an option, check Stir’s help center.
Turn off renewal first
Deleting your Stir account doesn’t stop a subscription you bought through the App Store or Google Play, so cancel first.
- Website or app: go to Manage Subscription in your Account Settings and follow the steps to turn off auto-renewal.
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Stir → Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Cancel.
You keep your plan until the term ends. Stir’s terms say you won’t get a prorated refund.
Add-ons such as Private Mode are cancelled separately: profile → gear icon → Manage Account → Manage Subscription → Subscription Status, then tap Deactivate.
Delete on a computer
The steps in the app are above. On a desktop browser, click the gear icon at the top right, then Manage Account, scroll down and click Delete Account. Stir asks why you’re leaving, and then you confirm with Delete My Account (Stir).
Cancelling your membership isn’t the same
This confuses people. If you have no paid plan, “cancelling your membership” under Manage Subscription immediately hides your profile and photos, but your information is kept and you can come back by signing in. Deleting your account is what removes it.
Hide your profile instead
If you’ve met someone or need a break, you can hide your profile at any time. It stops appearing in search results, and new people can’t see it. Anyone you’ve already talked to can still read and reply to your messages. Stir suggests using this only for a break, because it reduces your chance of finding a match.
Coming back
If you cancelled or hid your account, sign in and choose whether to reactivate it. That gives you the free membership and doesn’t charge you. Your email address stays tied to the old account, so you can’t use it for a new one.
Stir customer support
Stir says it has no customer support phone number, and that numbers on other websites are fake. Use the email form in its help center.

Does deleting Stir cancel my subscription?
Deleting your account doesn’t cancel an app-store subscription, so turn off renewal first. Subscriptions are non-refundable under Stir’s terms.
Does uninstalling Stir delete my account?
