This OurTime review covers a dating site built for people over 50. It belongs to Match Group, runs on the website and in iPhone and Android apps, and describes itself as being for people who want romance, friendship or companionship. You don’t strictly have to be 50 to join: its rules set the minimum age at 18 (OurTime). In practice, the app and the people on it are aimed at older singles. OurTime gave itself a new logo and brighter design in July 2026, but says the features stay the same.

How the OurTime dating site works

You build a profile with photos, a description and your interests, and you can answer up to three Topics, short questions that give people something to ask about. Then you meet people in a few ways:

• Discover. Browse profiles and like the ones you’re drawn to. OurTime also sends curated daily matches.
• Search. Filter by age, location, appearance, background, values, lifestyle and keywords. You can save searches, and look for who’s online now.
• Mutual and Reverse Search. See people whose preferences fit you, or who are looking for someone like you.

It’s a simple service, and it’s a sensible first site if you’re new to dating online.

Is OurTime free?

Partly. You can join, build a profile, search, like people and get daily matches for free. Messaging is the catch. OurTime’s help center says that sending, reading or replying to messages generally needs a subscription or an add-on (OurTime). The App Store listing says you can “start chatting once you match”, so check what your own account allows before you rely on it. Who you’ll meet on OurTime

OurTime doesn’t publish member numbers or an age breakdown. Everything about it is pitched at people in their fifties, sixties and beyond, and many are widowed or divorced. How many people you’ll find depends on where you live, so use a free search before you buy anything. In smaller towns, widen the distance. Is OurTime legit and safe?

Yes, it’s a real service from a large company, with profile moderation and fraud detection. Photo Verification gives you a badge after a video selfie, and it’s optional. OurTime says it has partnered with the anti-sexual-violence group RAINN, and reported members are reviewed by staff. The iPhone app is rated 3.9 out of 5 from about 71,000 ratings in the US App Store, and the Android app 3.7 from about 11,400 reviews on Google Play (checked November 1, 2026).
