This SeniorMatch review covers a long-running dating site for mature singles, in operation since 2001 according to its footer. The app’s seller in the US App Store is Agematch Technology Internet Co., Limited. You can use it on the website or in the iPhone and Android apps. SeniorMatch’s listing says it restricts registration to people aged 50 and up, and its home page tells younger visitors to come back later (SeniorMatch). It says it has more than 2.4 million members and 36,600 success stories. Those are its own figures, covering all the years it’s been running.

You can join for dating, or for social use only, which suits people looking for friends or travel companions.

How the SeniorMatch dating site works

You build a profile, verify yourself and then look for people in two main ways. Gallery lets you search, with advanced filters such as distance for Premium members. Flame shows you photos one at a time, and you like or skip. There are also winks: Standard members can send 40 a day once they’ve been members for three days, and 20 a day before that. Voice and video calls are built into chats, so you can talk before you meet. A private album lets you choose who sees certain photos.

What’s free and what isn’t

A free Standard account lets you create a profile, browse and view members, and receive and reply to messages from Premium members (SeniorMatch FAQ). You can’t start a new conversation. SeniorMatch’s rule is that messaging works as long as at least one person in the conversation has Premium.

Mostly people in their fifties, sixties and beyond, many of them widowed or divorced. Everyone is at a similar stage of life, which is the main reason to choose it over a mainstream site. Is SeniorMatch legit and safe?

It’s a real, long-running service. New profiles are reviewed, and SeniorMatch says only verified members can connect with you. Verification is a short selfie video, usually checked within one working day. Its FAQ is honest about the limits: a photo check doesn’t confirm someone’s income, job, intentions or criminal history.
