Step 1: Cancel your subscription
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Tinder → Cancel.
- Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Tinder → Cancel.
- Website: Tinder account settings → subscription / billing.
Step 2: Delete your Tinder account
- Open Tinder or tinder.com and tap the profile icon.
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm. You can also use the Manage My Account tool on the web.
Menu names can change after app updates. If you can’t find an option, check Tinder’s help center.
Cancel your subscription first
Deleting your Tinder account doesn’t cancel an active subscription, and neither does removing the app. Tinder’s order number tells you where you’re billed (Tinder):
- Starts with MK (iPhone): Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Tinder → Cancel Subscription.
- Starts with GPA (Android): Google Play → profile icon → Payments & Subscriptions → Subscriptions → Cancel subscription.
- Starts with TNDR (tinder.com, or a card or PayPal in the Android app): profile icon → Manage Payment Account → Cancel Subscription.
If you changed phones, cancel on the old device, because subscriptions don’t move between platforms.
Another way to delete your Tinder account
If you can’t get into the app, use Tinder’s Manage My Account tool on the web: sign in and tap Delete Account. Download your data first if you want a copy, because you lose access to it once the account is gone.
What happens to your data
Your profile disappears from other users straight away, and your matches, messages and photos are deleted. Tinder keeps profile data for 90 days as a safety retention window, then purges it under its privacy policy. If you sign up again within 90 days with the same login, you may be able to restore your name, age and gender, in markets where this is available. Messages, matches, photos and your Verification badge never come back.
Hide your profile instead
If you only want a break, turn off Discovery: profile icon → Settings → Enable Discovery. You won’t be shown to new people and you can’t like anyone new, but you can keep chatting with your matches. People you already Liked may still see you and match with you.

Frequently asked questions
Does deleting Tinder cancel my subscription?
Deleting your account or the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it first in the App Store, in Google Play or under Manage Payment Account, depending on how you paid.
Does uninstalling Tinder delete my account?
No. Removing the app from your phone leaves your profile active. You must delete the account in settings.
Can I pause Tinder instead of deleting?
Many dating sites let you hide or pause your profile. Check Tinder’s settings for a pause or hide option if you might come back.
