Short answer
ℹ️ We found no free trial of Premium, Elite or Platinum, but Upward is free to swipe, match and chat with no time limit.
What you can do for free
- Swiping, with a daily like limit
- Free chat with matches
- Core Values and Marriage Timeline
- One free Gem a week
Is there an Upward free trial?
We found no free trial of Premium, Elite or Platinum in Upward’s help center. You don’t need one to try it, because the app itself is free to use with no time limit.
What you get for free
- Swiping, with a limit on daily likes. Upward doesn’t publish the number.
- Free chat with anyone you match with.
- Core Values and Marriage Timeline on your profile.
- Spotlight, a daily list of eight popular profiles, and one free Gem a week.
- Selfie Verification.
- Chivalry Mode, if you complete the requirements.
- Community group chats.
That’s enough to judge Upward where you live. What you won’t get is a list of who likes you, unlimited likes or rewinds, and you’ll see ads.
Using the free version well
- Fill in your Core Values and Marriage Timeline, since they’re what people look at.
- Complete Selfie Verification. You need it for Chivalry Mode anyway.
- Use your weekly Gem on someone you really want to meet, and add a real message.
- If faith matters to you, say what it means to you on your profile.

We found no official Upward promo codes. Any discount would appear in the app. Longer plans cost less per week or month, so check what each plan costs before you buy. Ignore sites offering free Elite or asking for your login, and note that Upward says it will never ask for your login details.
