Step 1: Cancel your subscription
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → CatholicMatch → Cancel.
- Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → CatholicMatch → Cancel.
- Website: CatholicMatch account settings → subscription / billing.
Step 2: Delete your CatholicMatch account
- Cancel Premium first at catholicmatch.com/account/services: Cancel Premium, then Continue to Cancel and Yes Cancel.
- Open your account page on the CatholicMatch website.
- Scroll to the bottom and click remove account.
- Confirm. To have your personal data deleted too, email [email protected] with the subject “DATA DELETION REQUEST”.
Menu names can change after app updates. If you can’t find an option, check CatholicMatch’s help center.
Cancel Premium before you delete
Removing your profile doesn’t automatically stop a subscription bought in the app, so cancel first. On the website, open catholicmatch.com/account/services, scroll down and click Cancel Premium, then Continue to Cancel and Yes Cancel. A pop-up confirms the date your Premium ends. After that you become a free Basic member and aren’t billed again (CatholicMatch help center). If you subscribed in the iPhone app, cancel under your Apple ID subscriptions instead, and if you paid through Google Play, cancel there.
Make your profile inactive instead
If you’ve just met someone or need a break, CatholicMatch suggests an inactive profile rather than deleting. Inactive status takes you out of search results and pauses matching. People who already matched with you, viewed you or wrote to you can still find your profile. It lasts 90 days and then switches back to active. Basic members can switch once every 30 days and Premium members once a week (CatholicMatch, 2026). It also keeps your eligibility for discounted renewal rates if you come back.
What removing the account deletes
The remove account button is at the bottom of your account page. It deletes the contents of your account and profile, your preferences and your eligibility for CatholicMatch’s best discounts (CatholicMatch help center). Your messages go too, so swap contact details first with anyone you want to keep in touch with. To have your personal data deleted as well, email [email protected] with the subject line “DATA DELETION REQUEST”, as the privacy policy describes (CatholicMatch privacy policy, 2026).

For billing problems or anything the steps above don’t cover, CatholicMatch customer service is at [email protected], or you can open a ticket through its help center. If you’re leaving because you met someone, tell them. CatholicMatch says it sends a free gift to couples who met on the site.

Does deleting CatholicMatch cancel my subscription?
Premium renews automatically. Cancelling stops the renewal; you keep Premium until the term ends and then become a free Basic member. Purchases aren’t refundable once features are used (case-by-case exceptions within 3 days), and App Store purchases are refunded through Apple.
Does uninstalling CatholicMatch delete my account?
No. Removing the app from your phone leaves your profile active. You must delete the account in settings.
