How CatholicMatch works

CatholicMatch is a dating site and app for Catholic singles who want to marry within the Church. You fill in a long profile, including questions about how you live your faith, and then meet people in three ways (CatholicMatch help center, 2026):

• Matching, designed by Catholic psychologist Mark Friedrick, suggests members likely to agree on interests, values, vision, sexuality and communication.

There’s also an optional Temperament Quiz based on the four classic temperaments. What you can do without paying

A Basic account is free and doesn’t expire. You can view other members, use basic search and send a limited number of likes. You can also message mutual likes and matches, and reply to anyone who sends you a Golden Like.

Other messages come with a catch. As a Basic member, you wait 10 days before you can read and answer a message someone sent you (CatholicMatch, 2026). Premium removes the wait and lets you write to anyone first. It also adds advanced search filters, unlimited likes, one Golden Like every seven days, a list of who liked or viewed you and Relate Live events. Who you’ll meet on CatholicMatch

To join, you must be at least 18 and not legally married. The terms say plainly that divorced Catholics should speak to their parish priest or diocesan marriage tribunal about an annulment first (CatholicMatch terms, 2026). That rule shapes the membership. CatholicMatch singles are mostly people who want a sacramental marriage, and their profiles say how they practice, so you see early on whether someone goes to Mass every Sunday or every day.

The site also has browse pages for groups such as Hispanic, traditional, young adult and over-50 Catholics, which helps if you want someone from a particular part of the Church. CatholicMatch is a US company with prices in dollars, so expect fewer members nearby if you live elsewhere.

How CatholicMatch checks profiles

CatholicMatch says its team reviews every profile entry and photo before it goes live and scans accounts for signs that someone isn’t who they claim to be. Who should skip it

Skip CatholicMatch if you want something casual, if you’d rather faith didn’t come up on a first date, or if few members live near you.
