Step 1: Cancel your subscription
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Match → Cancel.
- Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Match → Cancel.
- Website: Match account settings → subscription / billing.
Step 2: Delete your Match account
- Open Match in the app or on the website and go to Settings.
- Tap Manage Account, then Delete Account.
- Choose Delete My Account, or Hide your account if you might return.
- Deleting is permanent, and you won’t get a confirmation email.
Menu names can change after app updates. If you can’t find an option, check Match’s help center.
Cancel your subscription first
Before you delete your Match account, turn off auto-renewal (Match).
- Website or Match app: Settings → Manage Account → Manage Subscription, enter your password, then follow the steps.
- iPhone, if you subscribed through Apple: App Store → profile icon → Subscriptions → Match → Cancel Subscription.
Add-ons such as Private Mode are cancelled separately under Subscription Status → Deactivate. Subscriptions are generally non-refundable, so keep using the site until your paid time ends.
Delete, cancel or hide
Match offers three different things, and it’s easy to mix them up:
- Delete your account. This is permanent: your matches, messages and profile information are removed. You won’t get an email confirming it, so don’t wait for one.
- Cancel your membership. Under Manage Subscription, this hides your profile and photos, keeps your data under Match’s privacy policy, and lets you come back by signing in.
- Hide your profile. Your profile stops appearing in search, and you stay a member. People you’ve already talked to can still read and reply to your old messages, and you show as “Profile Unavailable” in their threads. To do it, click your photo and pick your visibility setting.
Hiding doesn’t stop a subscription from renewing, and neither does removing the app.
Coming back
If you only cancelled or hid your profile, sign in and choose whether to reactivate. That gives you the free membership and doesn’t charge you. Note that editing the text of your profile makes it visible again. A deleted account can’t be restored.
Match customer service
Use the online form in Match’s help center. Match says it doesn’t offer phone support, and warns that websites posting “Match phone numbers” are fake. Its staff will never ask for your password, your card number or a payment.

Does deleting Match cancel my subscription?

Does uninstalling Match delete my account?
