Step 1: Cancel your subscription
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Mutual → Cancel.
- Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Mutual → Cancel.
- Website: Mutual account settings → subscription / billing.
Step 2: Delete your Mutual account
- Cancel Premium first, in the App Store, Google Play or on Mutual’s website.
- Open Settings and scroll to the bottom.
- Tap Delete My Account and select your reason.
- Tap Delete Account, then confirm.
Menu names can change after app updates. If you can’t find an option, check Mutual’s help center.
Cancel Premium first
Deleting your account or the app won’t cancel your subscription, so do this first (Mutual).
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Mutual → Cancel.
- Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Mutual → Cancel.
- Bought on Mutual’s website: log in on the website and cancel there, before you delete your account. Otherwise, you won’t be able to log in.

How to delete your account
- Open Settings. Mutual’s FAQ says to tap the icon at the top left, while an older help page points to the person icon at the bottom right.
- Scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete My Account.
- Select your reason, and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm by tapping Delete My Account again.
Mutual says this purges your account data and removes you from the app (Mutual).
Pause instead if you’re dating someone
You don’t have to delete. Mutual lets you pause your account, and there’s no limit on how long it can stay paused (Mutual). That’s a good choice if you’ve just met someone but aren’t sure yet. A pause doesn’t cancel Premium, so turn that off too if you’re paying.
Why deleting the app isn’t enough
Removing Mutual from your phone means it no longer tracks your location, and cached data on your device is cleared. It doesn’t delete your account or cancel your subscription, so your profile stays in place.

Frequently asked questions
Does deleting Mutual cancel my subscription?
Deleting your Mutual account or the app does not cancel Premium. Cancel where you bought it. If you bought on the website, cancel before you delete, or you won’t be able to log in.
Does uninstalling Mutual delete my account?
No. Removing the app from your phone leaves your profile active. You must delete the account in settings.
Can I pause Mutual instead of deleting?
