Step 1: Cancel your subscription
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Lex → Cancel.
- Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Lex → Cancel.
- Website: Lex account settings → subscription / billing.
Step 2: Delete your Lex account
- Cancel any paid plan in your app store first.
- Tap the smiley face at the bottom right to open your profile.
- Open your account settings.
- Choose to delete your account, or temporarily deactivate it, and confirm. You can also email [email protected].
Menu names can change after app updates. If you can’t find an option, check Lex’s help center.
Cancel a paid plan first
If you pay for Lex Plus or Lexplore through an app store, cancel there first, because deleting your account doesn’t stop billing.

- Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Lex → Cancel.
Lex’s terms say all purchases are non-refundable, so do this before your next renewal.
How to delete or deactivate
You can do this yourself in the app, and Lex’s terms also let you delete your account by email (Lex).
- Tap the smiley face at the bottom right to open your profile.
- Open your account settings.
- Choose to delete your account, or to deactivate it for now.
- Follow the prompts to confirm.

Delete or deactivate?
Deactivating is the temporary option, for a break or while you’re seeing someone. Deleting is for when you’re leaving. Lex’s help pages don’t say how much of your account can be restored, so if you might need something later, deactivate first.
Asking Lex to remove your data
For a formal GDPR or CCPA data deletion request, email [email protected] with your username, or the phone number or email you signed up with. Lex says it’ll purge stored data from your account. Lex also says it doesn’t sell your data or provide it to third parties (Lex).
Before you go
- Swap contact details with friends and dates you want to stay in touch with.
- Remember that other members may have seen or saved your posts, and deleting can’t reach their screenshots.
- Report any harassment first, so Lex’s team can act. Reports are anonymous.
Removing the app from your phone doesn’t delete your account by itself, so use the steps above.
