This Taimi review covers an app for people of all genders and sexualities. It’s run by Social Impact Inc., has been in the App Store since 2017 and describes itself as an all-in-one LGBTQ+ dating app with more than 37 million members, which is its own figure. You must be 18 or over (App Store). Where Grindr and SCRUFF serve mostly men and HER serves mostly queer women, Taimi’s draw is being open to everyone: gay, lesbian, bi, trans, non-binary, asexual and more.

How the Taimi dating app works

You build a profile with your identity and interests, then find matches near you or anywhere in the world. Filters let you narrow people down by location, interests and LGBTQ+ identity, and some are paid. Once you’ve matched, you can chat. Taimi calls a match a “mutual”, so you’ll see that word a lot.

One recent feature is worth pausing on: the Taimi AI Dating Assistant. It can automatically like profiles and send first messages for you, based on your preferences (App Store). It saves time, but the first message someone sees from you may not really be from you. That also means a first message you receive may have been written by software. If you use it, check what it’s sending, and take over quickly.

Friendship as well as dating

Who you’ll meet

Mostly younger adults, though Taimi doesn’t publish an age breakdown. How well it works depends a lot on where you live. Is Taimi safe?

Taimi says it verifies every profile and moderates for harassment. You can verify your account yourself, block anyone and report problems, and a Stealth Mode hides you from Discovery except for people you’ve liked. The app is rated 4.4 out of 5 from about 216,000 ratings in the US App Store and 4.1 from about 200,000 reviews on Google Play (checked November 1, 2026). Verification doesn’t mean someone’s story is true. Be careful with anyone who asks for money, and take extra care if you’re traveling somewhere that LGBTQ+ people face legal risks.
