Google Play shows items from $1 to $100. The App Store doesn’t say how long each Lex Plus option lasts, so check the screen before you pay.
What the paid options do
Lex’s help center doesn’t set out what Lex Plus includes, so read the in-app screen before you buy. The names give some clues. A Post Pack adds to your post limit, Lexplore looks like a pass for reaching beyond your area, and an Amplify appears to promote something you’ve posted. We haven’t paid for them, so treat those as our reading rather than Lex’s description.
Do you need to pay?
Probably not to start. Reading, posting and messaging are free, and Lex is a place where one good post can go a long way. Consider paying if you keep reaching the post limit or if you want to support an independent queer app. Lex’s terms describe its pricing as pay-what-you-wish, which fits that idea.
An Amplify at $9.99 costs more than a month of some plans, so it’s hard to justify unless you have a reason to reach many people quickly, such as a group or a move to a new city.
Refunds and cancelling
Lex’s terms say all purchases are non-refundable (Lex). If you subscribe through Apple or Google, you cancel with them, and deleting your account or the app doesn’t stop billing. Apple or Google may handle a refund request for store purchases. Our guide to deleting Lex has the steps.
